Family identifies Kashpreet Dosanjh as Modesto teen killed in December shooting

According to family members, Dosanjh saved five lives as an organ donor.

MODESTO, Calif. — A Modesto teen has died after being shot in December, police said Sunday.

Family members identified the 17-year-old victim as Kashpreet Dosanjh. As an organ donor, family members say she was able to save five lives after her death.

Dosanjh was shot in the 100 block of Camellia Way on the evening of Dec. 20. Police announced Sunday that she died days after the shooting, on Dec. 29.

The investigation is being classified as a homicide. Family members have set up a GoFundMe page to raise money for Dosanjh's medical and burial expenses.

"Kash was a beautiful, kind and smart young woman whose life was taken just days before Christmas. Kash loved the holiday season and was looking forward to spending her 18th birthday with her baby brother in Disneyland," a message posted to the GoFundMe page says. "Kash's life was tragically taken only weeks before her 18th birthday. Kash was a victim of senseless gun violence. She leaves behind two loving brothers and her parents who adored her."
