What to expect for Roseville's Downtown Holiday Celebration

Many of the events take place during Roseville's Downtown Holiday Celebration happening at the end of November and the first few weeks of December.

ROSEVILLE, Calif. — Roseville is ringing in the holidays with several events throughout December. 

Many of the events take place during Roseville's Downtown Holiday Celebration happening at the end of November and the first few weeks of December. While the Breakfast with Santa event is all sold out, there are plenty of other events to get into the holiday spirit.

Gingerbread House Contest: Nov. 29 to Dec. 8

The annual gingerbread house contest is happening again this year. All the houses will be on display in the Civic Center from Nov. 29 to Dec. 8. People can vote online once voting opens. Winners will be announced Dec. 11 on the city's website.

Tree Grove: Nov. 29 to Dec. 8

Businesses, organizations and schools will decorate trees in the town square and residents can view the trees and participate in other festivities. The Tree Grove celebration in Roseville happens from 6-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 29 to Friday, Dec. 8.

Christmas Tree Lighting: Nov. 30

Roseville's Christmas Tree will be lit Thursday, Nov. 30 at the Vernon Street Town Square. The tree lighting takes place around 6:10 p.m., but the event will go from 6-8 p.m. Other activities are planned including cookie decorating, visiting Santa, a kid's activity zone, music, food and celebration. The city's website even says snow is expected in the weather forecast!

Roseville's Kristen Brown took "The Voice" by storm and she's heading back to her roots Thursday for a special performance at the tree lighting.

North Pole Tavern: Dec. 1

This holiday party takes place Dec. 1 from 6-8 p.m. The entry fee is $12, which includes six tastings of wine and brew. The proceeds of the event go to recreation programs for at-risk youth. Register HERE. People can also drop their kids off before heading to the tavern at the city's Parent's Night Out. It's also Dec. 1 from 5:30-8:15 p.m. and costs $40. Register HERE.

Neighborhood Santa: Dec. 6-15

Santa will be visiting neighborhoods Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday evenings Dec. 5-14. Santa won't be able to visit individually with the children, but he will start the routes at 6 p.m. each night.

Any changes due to weather will be posted on the Roseville Parks, Recreation & Events Facebook page by 5 p.m. the evening of the route.
