Part of southbound I-5 closed after accident in south Sacramento County

Part of a big rig went off the freeway and into the water.

SACRAMENTO COUNTY, Calif. — Part of Interstate 5 in southern Sacramento County is closed due to an accident involving a big rig.

The California Highway Patrol said the crash happened along southbound I-5 at Lambert Road. Part of a big rig went off the freeway and into the water.

One lane remains open, but there's a still a hard closure for the No. 2 lane as clean up continues into the night.

CHP said the two-vehicle crash left both drivers with minor injuries.
