Man killed in Sacramento shooting

There was a heavy police presence near Johnfer Way and 43rd Avenue in the Greenhaven neighborhood, according to the Sacramento Police Department.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A man died after a shooting in Sacramento on Monday.

Officers with the Sacramento Police Department responded to reports of a shooting around 2:45 a.m. in the 6200 block of Riverside Boulevard. Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot.

He was taken to a hospital, but the man died. The police department determined the incident started in the 900 block of Johnfer Way and were investigating both areas.

The police department said to avoid the area while they continue investigating.
