'They haven’t said anything': Sol Blume Festival attendees grow concerned about lack of information

Less than three week away from the festival set to open in Discovery Park, attendees are concerned about the lack of communication with event organizers.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Just three weeks before the Sol Blume Festival is set to open in Sacramento's Discovery Park, attendees tell ABC10 they're worried about not yet receiving their tickets and how quiet organizers have been.

The situation is reminding some of last years event when the festival had to be postponed.

People traveling from all over to attend like Stefany Flores from Virginia are feeling uneasy about the situation.

“I’m just pretty discouraged, I was excited to come,” said Flores.

Carissa Streckfuss is returning to the festival all the way from New York.

“Honestly after this experience, I’m considering do I even want to go next year?” said Streckfuss.

Some festival goers for Sacramento’s Sol Blume say they’re unsure if the show will go on.

Scheduled for May 2, social media is swarming with comments about no one receiving event wristbands yet.

“I just have confirmation I bought a ticket and that’s it,” said Flores.

“I’m three weeks out from going I don’t have any wrist band they have not posted in two months about the festival at all. I’m literally coming from New York,” said Streck.

Some concert-goers are left wanting to know if they should cancel or change hotel and flight plans.

The silence from Sol Blume isn’t helping their worries. Their social media pages are a contrast from 2023 when they posted multiple times a week before the festival. The last time Sol Blume was active on social media was Feb. 29.

“It’s disappointing because, one, this is happening again but I feel like they handled it much better last year I at least had my wrist band sent out prior to it being postponed,” said Streckfuss.

Last year Sol Blume was rescheduled from April 29 and 30, 2023 to August 2023 after Discovery Park was flooded by severe storms.

They postponed two weekends before, the same timeline as right now.

Sacramento county parks confirms Sol Blume still has an active permit for May 2, but some fans like Alyssa Tafoya are not convinced.

“I’ve been to a festival at discovery park, I went to After Shock and I had a very smooth process with that festival. I don’t feel very good about Sol Blume at this point,” said Tafoya.

ABC10 reached out to Sol Blume and got the same automated email everyone else received, in part reading "someone from the team will get back to you as soon as possible. In the meantime, follow us on socials for the latest updates or visit our FAQ page for more info."

No new posts have been made.

"They haven’t said anything, I know people who reached out about volunteering, there are people who are working with vendors who haven’t heard anything from them,” said Tafoya.

Friday headliner Snoh Aalegra and Sunday headliner SZA both still have Sol Blume listed as tour dates.

Opening artist Samm Henshaw listed Sol Blume as TBA.

Big name artists like JoJo and Pink Pantheress also no longer listing Sol Blume. Jordan Ward, who was originally scheduled to perform at Sol Blume May 4, is now scheduled to play for the same day in South Africa.

Visit Sacramento said they have not heard any new information from Sol Blume and all questions should be sent to Sol Blume directly. Visit Sacramento CEO Mike Testa says they are not involved with the festival.
