Who do you call to report illegal fireworks in your neighborhood?

Some cities and counties want you to call 911, others have a different number for you to call.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — So, you see illegal fireworks and wonder, "who should I call?"

Well, it depends on where you live.

In Sacramento, if it looks like danger is imminent, call 911. Otherwise, email your complaint to fireworks@pd.cityofsacramento.org

Don't live in Sacramento? 

  • Sacramento County, call 916-874-5115
  • Yolo County, call 530-668-5280
  • West Sacramento at 916-372-3375
  • Placer County, call the Sheriff’s Department at 530-886-5375
  • San Joaquin County, call the Sheriff’s Department at 209-468-4400
  • Stockton, call 209-937-8377
  • Stanislaus County — wherever you live — simply call 911.

Bottom line, law enforcement is patrolling for illegal fireworks right now. If you see something, say something.
