SACRAMENTO, Calif. — A pedestrian was hit and killed Wednesday in south Sacramento near the Valley Hi/ North Laguna neighborhood.
The crash happened around 7 a.m. near Mack Road and Summersdale Drive, according to the Sacramento Police Department. Upon arrival, officers found a woman with serious injuries. She died at the scene. The woman's identity has not been released.
The driver remained at the scene. The crash is under investigation.
Mack Road is closed between Tangerine Avenue and Center Parkway. Police said to avoid the area.
