Person killed in Shasta County house fire

The Shasta County Sheriff's Office says fire crews were called to the 7000 block of Squaw Springs Road in Shingletown around 10 p.m. Thursday for a house fire.

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. — A Shasta County house fire left a home destroyed and a person dead Thursday, according to officials.

The Shasta County Sheriff's Office says fire crews were called to the 7000 block of Squaw Springs Road in Shingletown around 10 p.m. about a house fire.

The fire destroyed the home and while an investigation is still underway, officials say "no suspicious circumstances have been identified and appears accidental in nature."

One person was found dead in the home. 

No other information is available at this time and officials suggest everyone check their fire alarms and practice fire drills in case of a fire.
