1 dead, 3 hurt in Stockton shootout

​Police say multiple groups were shooting in the area, resulting in a 19-year-old man dying and a 53-year-old and two 19-year-old women getting hurt.

STOCKTON, Calif. — One person was killed and three others were injured in a Stockton shooting Saturday, according to police.

The Stockton Police Department says they were called to the 800 block of Astor Drive around 2:37 p.m. on reports of multiple shots fired. Upon arrival, they found a 53-year-old man who was shot. Police say he was taken to the hospital and has non-life-threatening injuries. 

Police say multiple groups were shooting in the area.

As an investigation began, the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office chased a car suspected to be involved in the shooting near West Lane and Alpine Avenue, according to police. 

The chase eventually ended about a mile and a half away on California Street and Harding Way where officials found a 19-year-old man in the car shot. He was taken to the hospital where he later died.

The driver and multiple passengers were arrested without incident, according to police. 

Two 19-year-old women later took themselves to the hospital with injuries from the shooting. One is listed in critical condition from a gunshot wound and the other has non-life-threatening injuries from getting hit with shrapnel, police say. 

An investigation is underway and no other information is known at this time. This marks the third fatal shooting in Stockton Saturday.
