Nashville hot chicken restaurant opening in Vacaville

The store, at 1021 Helen Power Drive in Vacaville, will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.

VACAVILLE, Calif. — Need to spice up your life — literally? Solano County is the latest to welcome another Nashville hot chicken spot for residents to try.

Vacaville's Angry Chickz, a Southern California based spicy chicken place founded in 2018, will open April 5 at 1021 Helen Power Dr. in Vacaville near the Vacaville Premium Outlets.

The first 100 people in line may receive gift bags including Angry Chickz merchandise or golden tickets for free menu items, a spokesperson told ABC10. There will also be a raffle to give away five Sony gaming PlayStations.

The business offers spicy chicken in various forms — from sliders to tenders mixed with mac and cheese — and spice levels.

Ranging in intensity from country to angry, the six levels increase drastically from one to the next. As described on their menu, the spice levels are as follows:

  • Country - no heat
  • Mild - light spice (for someone who doesn’t often eat spicy foods, this was my limit)
  • Medium - “perfect heat” (my mother, who loves spicy foods, says this was too spicy for her). This level uses Habanero Peppers
  • Hot - “feel the burn." This level uses Ghost Peppers.
  • X-Hot - “call 911." This level uses Scorpion Peppers.
  • Angry - sign a waiver (You have to be 18 years old or older and sign a waiver releasing Angry Chickz from any liability). This level uses Carolina Reaper peppers.

Sides to help cut the heat include coleslaw, rice, mac and cheese, fries and drinks.

Like all 25 other locations, the store will be open from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. every day.

According to a press release, the business “intends to collaborate with local schools and organizations in the community.”

Other Northern California locations include Sacramento, Citrus Heights, Stockton, Brentwood, Concord, Vallejo and Ceres.

Editor's note: ABC10's reporter tried Angry Chickz when it opened in his city on his own time and did not receive any compensation from them for this story.
