Cyclist hit, dragged by car in West Sacramento

The driver was heading eastbound in the area of W. Capitol Ave. and Jefferson Blvd. when they struck the cyclist.

WEST SACRAMENTO – A bicyclist was rushed to the hospital Wednesday morning after they were hit and dragged by a vehicle in West Sacramento.

West Sacramento Police Officer Mark Marquez said the 19-year-old driver was heading eastbound in the area of W. Capitol Ave. and Jefferson Blvd. when they struck the 79-year-old cyclist.

Marquez did not confirm a cause for the crash, but he said the driver was heading in the direction of the rising sun.
