Tuolumne County man dies after being run over by his own vehicle

CHP says he partially exited his vehicle while at a stop sign and it ran him over.

MOCCASIN, Calif. — A Groveland man died Thursday after being run over by his own pickup truck.

According to the California Highway Patrol, it happened around 8:40 a.m. at the stop sign for Old Priest Grade and State Route 120, near Moccasin.

CHP says the 68-year-old man “partially exited” his Ford F150 pickup while it was still in drive, causing the truck to run over him.

The truck continued rolling forward and off the road where it crashed into several fences before stopping in an open field.

The driver died from his injuries at the scene. He has not been identified yet.
