Seahawks QB's emotional postgame interview after comeback win over Eagles

Lock's last win as a starting quarterback in an NFL game before Monday was back in December 2020.

SEATTLE — Drew Lock's first NFL win as a starter since late 2020 came on Monday night, and his emotions were on full display as he caught up with ESPN's Lisa Salters after the game.

"It's been a long time," Lock said on the "Monday Night Football" broadcast after he led the Seahawks to a win over the Philadelphia Eagles. "It's been a long time. I'm just blessed, a great group of guys, great city, great coaching staff, it's awesome."

Lock completed 22 of his 33 passes for 208 yards and did not throw an interception. The Seahawks' backup quarterback -- who was not announced as the starter until he arrived at the stadium Monday -- did not have a touchdown until the final minute of the game.

With 28 seconds remaining, Lock found Seahawks rookie Jaxon Smith-Njigba for a 29-yard touchdown pass that gave Seattle the lead.

It was the Seahawks' longest scoring drive of the season, and it came at the end of a game the Seahawks were desperate to win.

That desperation was emanating from Lock as well, as Monday was his first win as the starting quarterback in a regular-season game since December 2020. Lock was with the Denver Broncos then, before he was traded to the Seahawks as part of the infamous Russell Wilson trade.

Lock did not play a single regular-season game in his first season with Seattle. He started the Seahawks' Week 14 loss at the NFC-leading San Francisco 49ers, where the league's best defense made moving the ball extremely difficult.

Three years after his last win as a starter, Lock was visibly moved after his first signature moment as a Seahawk.
