The crash happened in the area of Madison Avenue and Jackson Street in North Highlands around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

NORTH HIGHLANDS, Calif. — Three people were hurt after a car, driven by minors, allegedly ran a stoplight and crashed in Sacramento County Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The crash happened in the area of Madison Avenue and Jackson Street in North Highlands around 8 p.m. CHP says the minors' car hit another after going through a red light north on Jackson Street.

They continued driving and stopped in a nearby parking lot after hitting a second car, according to CHP.

A woman, in one of the cars allegedly hit by the minors, was hurt with a broken leg and one of the minors also had a broken leg, CHP said. Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District officials said three people total were taken to the hospital, but it's unclear who else was injured.

CHP said the car driven by a minor had three inside. While two of them stayed at the scene, the other one ran.

No other information is known at this time but CHP said they don't believe the car was stolen.
