Amazon's 'thank my driver' promotion returns: How to tip $5 at no cost to you

But hurry, last year's promotion was so popular that it maxed out after just one day.

SEATTLE — Amazon's popular "thank my driver" promotion is back.

The online shopping giant's program allows customers to give their Amazon drivers a $5 tip — at no additional cost — but only for the first 2 million "thank yous." The promotion launched Tuesday.

But hurry, last year's promotion was so popular that it maxed out after just one day.

An Amazon spokesperson declined to share how many "thank yous" have been redeemed, but noted that the program was still running Wednesday.

How to thank your Amazon driver

Using their Alexa-enabled device, a customer can say "Alexa, thank my driver" or search "thank my driver" on both Amazon.com or the Amazon shopping app.

The driver who completed your most recent Amazon delivery will then receive the $5 tip.

Amazon said that customers have thanked their drivers more than 22 million times since the program launched during the 2022 holiday season.

The feature is now available year-round, however, but it only applies to U.S. drivers delivering Amazon packages.
