ELK GROVE, Calif. — A two-year-old child is dead after an apparent murder-suicide in Elk Grove, police said.
Police are investigating the scene on the 5500 block of Tamarindo Lane.
The relationship between the victim and suspect is father and son, police said.
Police spokesperson Jason Jimenez said the father had gotten into an argument with a woman before pulling out a firearm and shooting the two-year-old. He then turned the gun on himself.
Police were called when the woman was screaming along the street around 2 p.m. Arriving officers found both the father and child dead.
