1 arrested in Oakdale stabbing with 1 suspect still on the run, police say

OAKDALE, Calif. — Oakdale police said one person has been arrested for an early morning stabbing, but another suspect is still on the run.

Around 11 a.m. on Sunday, police arrested Issac Rodriguez, 21, on charges of attempted murder and participation in a criminal street gang. Police said the search is still on for Eugenio Olivares, 18, a second suspect who faces the same charges.

The two men are suspects in the stabbing of a 26-year-old man on the 300 block of South 3rd Avenue. Police responded to the area around 12:56 a.m. after getting reports of shots fired and people armed with knives. 

Police said the stabbing victim had life-threatening injuries but is in stable condition after being taken to the hospital.
