Police identify suspect arrested in deadly Natomas stabbing | Update

Investigators say Fabrizio Leal, 27, knew the victim but did not explain how the men knew each other.

Update 3/21:

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- Police have identified the man arrested in connection to a deadly stabbing in Natomas, Wednesday, as 27-year-old Fabrizio Leal.

Leal was arrested by responding officers at the scene. Investigators say Leal knew the victim but did not explain how the men knew each other. It is unclear what led up to the stabbing.

Leal was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a complaint of homicide.

Police said they believe this was an isolated incident at that there is no other threat to the public.

Sacramento police are investigating a deadly stabbing in Natomas. 

The department said in a tweet the stabbing happened in the 1900 block of San Juan Road, which is less than one mile west of the San Juan Village shopping center on Truxel Road, near FoodMaxx and Papa Murphy's. 

One person of interest was detained, according to police, and at this time there are no outstanding suspects related to the deadly stabbing.

Police said there is no threat to the community and the investigation is ongoing.
