Stockton teen arrested after chase on I-5 in stolen vehicle

The sheriff's office says it found a loaded gun in the 15-year-old's waistband as he was being taken into custody

STOCKTON, Calif. — A Stockton teen was arrested over the weekend after a police chase in a stolen vehicle.

According to the San Joaquin County Sheriff's Office, deputies and CHP officers led a chase from I-5 in Lathrop to downtown Stockton around 11 a.m. Sunday.

The driver, a 15-year-old from Stockton, got stuck in traffic and then got out of the car and started running from deputies.

The sheriff's office says deputies found a loaded gun in the teen's waistband, along with two laptops and record player believed to be stolen property.

The teen was taken to Juvenile Hall and booked on charges related to the gun and stolen vehicle.
