Student arrested after making ‘criminal threats’ to high school in West Sacramento

A male student who attends River City High School in West Sacramento has been arrested for making “criminal threats” toward the high school over a voicemail, according to the West Sacramento Police Department.

On Monday morning, the West Sacramento Police Department began working with staff at the high school to investigate the alleged threat via an anonymous voicemail to the main office. The campus was temporarily placed on lockdown at the time, according to the police department.

As a precaution, River City High School also implemented an early release for its students before taking the juvenile into custody Monday afternoon.
