The two-time NBA champion and All-Star David West has announced his retirement Thursday on social media.

"I have been fortunate enough to live out my childhood dream of playing in the NBA. After 15 seasons I have decided to retire from the game of basketball," West wrote in a post.

West, 38, spent 15 seasons in the NBA playing on four different organizations - New Orleans Hornets, Indiana Pacers, San Antonio Spurs and the Golden State Warriors.

He was a member of the back-to-back (2017, 2018) championship Warriors teams and also led the Pacers to two Eastern Conference Finals appearances (2013, 2014).

The 6-foot-9 power forward finishes his career averages of nearly 14 ppg and six rebounds on 49 percent shooting from the field. West also reached an impressive milestone of playing in 1,034 total games.
