RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. — UPDATE: 6:20 p.m.
The multi-vehicle accident on the eastbound side of Highway 50 has been cleared, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A multi-vehicle crash on the eastbound side of Highway 50 in Rancho Cordova is causing a major traffic backup for the evening commute.
According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP), four lanes of the highway are closed due to the crash near Zinfandel Drive. Authorities have not said how many vehicles are involved or if there are any injuries.
There is no estimated time on when the lanes will be re-opened, according to Caltrans.
