RIVERBANK, Calif. — An elderly man was taken to the hospital for life-threatening injuries Wednesday morning after a major vehicle accident in Riverbank.
Police said the man was hit by a car at Callander Avenue and Topeka Street.
The driver remained at the scene and was not injured. She is cooperating with investigators, police say, and neither drugs nor alcohol appear to be factors in the accident.
Roadways in the area were briefly closed but have since re-opened.
