Storm Watch: Interstate 80 at Drum Forbay closed due to spinouts, high winds, low visibility

This storm will have extreme impacts for the Sierra with heavy snow and gusty winds making travel nearly impossible Friday and Saturday.

CALIFORNIA, USA — A major winter storm with blizzard conditions will impact the northern parts of California through Sunday morning.

This storm forecast calls for extreme impacts for the Sierra with heavy snow and gusty winds making travel nearly impossible Friday and Saturday. Up to 10 feet of snow could fall in some places.

Lighter rain accumulations are expected in the valley as the cold storm makes it less impactful than in the Sierra.

Be prepared for travel delays, chain controls and possible road closings over the weekend.

Clearing is expected to start Sunday morning with a few lingering showers. Rain and snow could linger longer on Sunday.
